Gulf Bay Charters is operated by a father-son duo, Rick & Jake Durant. Combined, these two captains have over 30 years of professional fishing in Pensacola’s Gulf of Mexico and waterways. Both of our captains were born and raised in Pensacola and have been avid outdoorsmen since they can remember.
In January of 2026 Capt Jeff McNew and Captain Clay Hinton joined the team and adding two additional boats to the fleet.
Our boats operate out of Southwind Marina in Perdido Key, FL, and are able to serve travelers in Pensacola, FL, and Orange Beach, AL.

Captain Jake Durant
Once Captain Jake, was old enough to be on the water he was. He began helping Captain Rick at a young age and steadily absorbed knowledge of the profession throughout his teenage years. Once Captain Jake was out of college and ready to start his career, he got a captain’s license of his own and began running his own charters.

Captain Rick Durant
Captain Rick, 62, was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida and has been an outdoorsman his entire life. Once settled down after his professional baseball career, he began his fishing charter business out of Perdido Key, Florida. Throughout the years he has earned a strong reputation of being a reliable captain in the area and built a strong client base for himself.

Captain Jeff McNew
Captain Jeff grew up in Louisiana and fished the marshes and offshore in Southeast Louisiana. He moved to Pensacola in 2020 and began running offshore charters out of Pensacola. Using is extensive background and fishing knowledge of the Gulf makes for a very exciting time on his boat Reel Adventure.
